Marianne Plahn

Marianne Plahn, is a Clinical Psychologist, who has been practising as a Psychologist for 30 years and as a Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist for 15 years.

She holds three University degrees: BA in Psychology, an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology.

As a member of the Westmead Hospital Neurosciences Research Team Marianne contributed to a number of publications pioneering the application of Functional MRI investigations on brain function. Marianne completed three years of psychotherapy training at the Westmead Hospital Department of Psychiatry. She received specialist training in infant and adult attachment assessments and classification and detection of child abuse. She has expertise in Hypnosis/ Mindfulness, EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming and Neurofeedback Training. As a clinical psychologist she is trained to conduct standardised psychometric and forensic assessments to determine personality, intellectual, educational, neuropsychological and memory functioning.

She is registered to practise as a Psychologist in Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is a member of the Australian Society College of Clinical Psychologists and she is a registered Medicare Provider and WorkCover provider.

SMART recovery programs specialise in the personalised treatment of: Chronic Pain, PTSD, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders and Addictions.

Marianne has gained experience in enhancing traditional psychological therapies with neuroplasticity strategies . QEEG Brain maps and 19 Channel EEG / Biofeedback training enhance personalised therapies and neuroplasticity. Brain maps assist in monitoring neuroplasticity and reduction of brain dysregulation associated with specific symptom relief.
